I’m planning to look into output formatters/“reshapers” for PHPStan’s static analysis output. (There seem to be a few existing projects for this.) I have some long-lasting gripes with the default result printer. Some examples of things I’d like to add/change: More concise output. The current default printer is quite verbose. Most of the time, not all of the info is needed. Just in case, a cool bonus feature would be an easy way to get more details for specific findings. E.g., generate an ID for every finding that can be targeted with a CLI flag. Level diffs. Don’t show me everything of levels up to (and including) n, just show me what’s new in level n. Tag/category filter via CLI. It’s already possible to ignore specific types of error messages (exclude), but you can only do that by editing the config file. I’d also like to see the output for specific tags only (include). That would, e.g., simplify fixing all occurrences of a specific issue. Right now, I’m using makeshift grep calls for this.
