OT: Why didn't I post for so long, you wonder? Why didn't I read more than five pages of "Infinite Jest"? Good questions.
By the way, I just googled "all good questions" (to check the grammar) and guess what search result #3 is:
Infinite Summer: Is Infinite Jest a New Media Object?
I swear to God, this is purely coincidental. And, come to think about it, somewhat spooky. Guess I'll better start reading.
Hosanna - Hillsong. Surprisingly few pictures of crosses in the sunset in this one.
– "Embedding disabled by request" seems to be the newest trend in YouTube videos. That's definitely not Two Point Oh, folks.
Elektrochemie LK's "When I Rock" which is not embeddable.
"Concubine" by Clayton Cubitt. The video is not safe for work if your employer has a policy against women in underwear shaving the artist's head.
There are a lot of other good videos on Cubitt's profile page.
More here. (thx Tim)
The intro to the 1997 film Contact, starring Jodie Foster. The choice of radio samples is blatantly obvious (Kennedy assassination) or awful (yes, those are the Spice Girls) at times, but the intro always gives me the creeps nonetheless.
(Also check out Powers of Ten by Ray and Charles Eames.)
Watching Danny MacAskill is like playing a Tony Hawk game. Well, without Tony Hawk. And with a bike instead of a skateboard. Granted. And he's real. But apart from that, it's basically the same. (via kottke)
"A wolf loves pork", a stop motion adventure by Takeuchi Taijin. I don't want to know how long it took to create this.
A video of robots which closely resemble penguins in appearance and movement.
Ely Kim dances to 100 songs in under 10 minutes. Watching this, it’s hard to stay in your seat.
New York 2008 by Vicente Sahuc. "Slow motion made in New York in 2008 with a cheap casio camera [...]". (via tat)
Time lapse video of a playing baby. Aww, so cute. (via coudal)
Every day: so many opportunities to connect...
What if you took just one?
A Thousand Words. Has something like this ever happened to anybody in reality? (via coudal)
Eirik Solheim took images from the same spot (a couple of trees) over the year and merged them to a series of time-lapse videos. Try to watch this in fullscreen HD, it looks so much better.
Video of the moon transiting earth. Imagine where you have to place the camera to take these pictures.
These days. A nicely composed video of playing dogs by Textism's Dean Allen. Very relaxing, I miss the summer.
